Localhost is a series of technical talks in NYC given by members of the Recurse Center community. For every event, we set aside seats for the public.

November 19th, 2024: Greg Sadetsky and disco

Open Source self-hosting, deploy as you code! This month, Greg Sadetsky will present on disco, which lets you easily deploy backend apps to virtual cloud servers or Raspberry Pis. Greg is an itinerant tinkerer and began working on disco with his friend Antoine to host the various hobby sites he’s made. Greg has been in web development for 20+ years, and this is the tool he wishes existed when he was starting out 🪩🕺

Snacks and refreshments will be available at 6:30 pm. Greg’s talk will begin at 7:00 pm with a Q&A session following. Come watch in person! Or, attend via Zoom!
